Building Interdisciplinary Research in Women's Health (BIRCWH)

Overview

Group of women looking at the camera and smiling. The group comprises many different ages and ethnicities. NICHD, through its Gynecologic Health and Disease Branch (GHDB), participates in the BIRCWH program, which the NIH Office of Research on Women's Health (ORWH) leads, along with nearly a dozen other NIH institutes, centers, and offices. GHDB administers all the BIRCWH awards funded by NICHD.

BIRCWH connects junior faculty who have recently completed clinical training or postdoctoral fellowships and who plan to conduct interdisciplinary basic, translational, behavioral, clinical, and/or health-services research relevant to women's health to senior faculty with shared research interests.
