OC serves as NICHD's liaison with several different audiences, including other government agencies, non-governmental organizations, professional societies, news media, and the public.
OC staff functions include developing content for websites and social media, working with the press to disseminate news and coordinate interviews with NICHD experts, generating publications/materials for the public, and responding to Freedom of Information Act requests, among other activities.
The Office also maintains several public health education activities for NICHD-led campaigns and programs, including:
