Office of the Clinical Director (OCD)

Data and Safety Monitoring Committee (DSMC)

The NICHD DSMC guides the conduct of intramural clinical protocols that need disinterested and unbiased evaluations of emerging data.

The DSMC meets two times per year. It comprises seven regular members representing biostatistics, ethics, reproduction, pharmacology, genetics, and endocrinology (the latter two are areas of major focus in our program), with ad hoc experts added for specific trials when necessary. Member terms are from 1 to 3 years and renewable.

The DSMC site (login required) provides additional information, including a list of current members and the NICHD DSMC Charter.

To contact a member of the DSMC, please call the OCD at 301-496-8370.
