Purpose
Peter Kaufmann, Ph.D., leads the Behavioral Medicine & Prevention Research Group at NIH’s National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). He will discuss LookAHEAD, an intensive lifestyle intervention program designed for overweight volunteers with type 2 diabetes. The program explores the long-term effects of decreased calorie consumption and increased physical activity on achieving and maintaining weight loss. The program’s effects will be compared to a control program that involves diabetes support and education.
This presentation is part of the Advances in Child Development and Behavior Research Speaker Series, supported by the CDBB.
