Purpose
The workshop aims further knowledge to help develop future directions for oligosaccharide-related research. By sharing their knowledge, researchers will help overcome the technical barriers to synthesizing sufficient quantities of oligosaccharides as well as to understanding the mechanisms behind their antimicrobial properties. The results of the meeting will help inform future discussions on how to advance the science and on issues to consider in structuring the research portfolio.
