On May 2-3, 2019, NICHD hosted the meeting, Maternal Mortality in the United States: Future Research Directions. The meeting's goal was to inform a research agenda designed to address maternal mortality in the United States. Scientific experts examined data quality and trends, populations disproportionately affected, social determinants of maternal mortality, and clinical causes of the increase in U.S. maternal mortality. The following set of videos highlights the research and perspectives of some of the meeting participants. Regular versions of the videos are also available.
