Sponsor/Co-Sponsor(s)

NIH Pain Consortium

Location

NIH Clinical Center (Bldg 10), Masur Auditorium and FAES Terrace, NIH Main Campus, Bethesda, Maryland

Purpose

The NIH Pain Consortium, of which NICHD is a member, was established to enhance pain research and promote collaboration of programs and activities related to pain across the NIH.

This year’s symposium features a keynote address by Drs. Anne Case and Sir Angus Deaton of Princeton University, entitled Pain and Opioids in an Epidemic of Mental and Economic Distress. It also features a patient’s perspective and expert panel sessions on pain in pediatric populations, mid-life pain and special populations, and pain management in older adults. A poster session featuring junior investigators selected by NIH program staff offers broad selection of current pain research findings.
