This 1-page fact sheet describes NICHD's support of research on women's health and uterine fibroids, the most common non-cancerous tumors in reproductive-age women. People with uterine fibroids may experience pain, menstrual irregularities, and infertility, or they may not have any symptoms. The handout also highlights some recent findings and advances from NICHD-funded projects on uterine fibroids.
