Office of Financial Planning and Management (OFPM)

OFPM is the lead within NICHD on budgetary and financial information. The branch provides accounting and budgetary guidance to NICHD leadership and staff to support their efforts to make decisions and respond to requests from the public and other government entities. OFPM manages the internal systems regarding all NICHD financial resources. It also monitors and oversees the execution of the budget for all mechanisms of support, including grants, contracts, intramural research, and research management and support activities. OFPM collaborates with science policy staff, program staff, and NICHD leadership to plan future initiatives. It also coordinates the development of the annual Congressional Budget Justification to Congress each year.
