202010 NICHD Data and Specimen Hub

The NICHD Data and Specimen Hub will serve to expand research capacity, maximize our research investments, increase secondary analysis, and encourage reproducibility. Facilitating data sharing and access to biospecimens from NICHD-funded studies is a goal of our Strategic Plan and in alignment with the overall NIH Strategic Plan, which recognizes that enhancing access to data and biospecimens is a key part of future investments in shared resources.

The NICHD Data and Specimen Hub will work to improve the accessibility and visibility of data resources created with NICHD support, with a commitment to safeguarding human participants’ privacy and confidentiality. This initiative will build on current NICHD infrastructure to support a coordinated effort that will increase the impact of current and previously funded NICHD studies by making their data and specimens available to the broader scientific community.
