NICHD is very grateful for the thoughtful and detailed comments and suggestions it received in response to the Request for Information (RFI) published on January 2, 2019. The purpose of the RFI was to solicit feedback on the scientific themes, goals, and opportunities under consideration for the new NICHD strategic plan. Many of you shared personal stories with us, and we appreciate your willingness to offer your perspectives on the direction of the institute’s research.

As of February 15, 2019, NICHD received a total of 924 responses to the RFI. Comments were submitted by individuals, families, policymakers, researchers, academic institutions, nonprofit organizations, and professional societies. We are taking your feedback with the utmost seriousness and consideration as we move forward.
