Biosketch

Sai Majji, Ph.D., is a Health Scientist Administrator at the Maternal and Pediatric Infectious Disease Branch of NICHD. Her research portfolio includes pediatric immune system ontogeny and development, immune-prophylactics, monoclonal and broadly neutralizing antibodies. and therapeutic development against chronic and acute infections like HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria infections in pregnant women and pediatric populations, as well as clinical trial safety and monitoring. 

Dr. Majji was an immunologist at the Department of Defense (DOD) for more than seven years. working on malaria vaccine development, characterizing monoclonal antibodies against malaria and HIV, testing candidate vaccines. and developing humanized animal models for studying malaria, HIV, and emerging infectious diseases. She was also the DOD liaison to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for licensure and development of military health products against HIV and malaria. 

Dr. Majji has a bachelor's degree as a physician assistant from Madras Medical Mission, India, a master's degree in biomedical sciences from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India, and a doctorate in microbiology from University of Mississippi Medical Center.
