The NICHD OEP provides overall leadership and guidance to the Institute's extramural research program. The OEP advises the NICHD Director and Deputy Director on departmental, NIH, and NICHD policies and procedures that affect the Institute's extramural activities, as well as on funding decisions, planning new programs and initiatives, personnel, and all other matters pertaining to the Institute's extramural research and support.
The OEP also develops, implements, and manages integrated policies and procedures affecting all NICHD extramural activities and assures appropriate training, information dissemination, and systems for NICHD extramural staff and the extramural research community.
