Using Research and Reason in Education: How Teachers Can Use Scientifically Based Research to Make Curricular & Instructional Decisions

PDF
This scientific publication, written by Paula J. Stanovich and Keith E. Stanovich for the National Institute for Literacy (NIFL) as part of the Partnership for Reading, explains how teachers can become more effective at using their skills to recognize scientifically based practice and, when the evidence is not available, use some basic research concepts to draw conclusions on their own. The Partnership for Reading, which included the NICHD, NIFL, and the U.S. Department of Education, aimed to distribute evidence-based reading research information to those who can benefit the most from it.
