NICHD announces the implementation of a "select pay" funding policy

Funds are available to support meritorious applications of high general programmatic significance or that focus on the recently announced high priority topics identified by the NICHD Vision process (see NOT-HD-14-020).

This policy will enable NICHD to support a small number of meritorious investigator-initiated R01, R03, R15, and R21 applications that do not meet the Institute payline, but are of high quality and focused either on topics of high general programmatic significance or on high priority Vision topics.

Investigators cannot apply for or request select pay funding. NICHD program staff may nominate individual applications for select pay support; these nominations are reviewed by the NACHHD Council, and funding decisions are made by the NICHD Director.
