Kara A. Michels is a postdoctoral Intramural Research Training Award fellow in the Epidemiology Branch. She works under the mentorship of Doctors Sunni Mumford and Edwina Yeung. She received her Ph.D. in epidemiology from Vanderbilt University, her M.P.H. from the University of Kentucky, and her B.A. in biology from Willamette University. Dr. Michels is interested in reproductive endocrinology and health across the lifespan, particularly among women. Much of her work explores potentially modifiable influences on reproductive health such as diet/supplemetation, sleep, inflammation, and hormone exposures.
