Ms. Francie Kitzmiller is the Branch Chief of the Administrative Management Branch (AMB) in the Division of Intramural Research (DIR) of the NICHD at the NIH. She assists the Scientific Director in the DIR with a 1.6 million dollar budget. This includes accountability for the oversight of the services and assistance provided to the DIR staff in the area of personnel, budget, and travel by the AMB which currently has 40 staff members.
Ms. Kitzmiller received her AA degree in Business Administration in 2006 from Montgomery College. She began her administrative career in 1981 with the National Geographic Society, joined Tracor, Inc in 1984 (an Engineering Firm), continued her administrative support with B-K Dynamics in 1985 (an Engineering Firm), then joined the National Institute of Mental Health in Poolesville, Maryland in 1987. She joined the NIH as a secretary working her way in the administrative field which included a Purchasing Agent and Administrative Technician position, to the present the Administrative Officer career. In October 2008, she joined the NICHD as the Branch Chief of the AMB and is now in her 24th year with the Federal Government.
