Benjamin Feldman, Ph. D
Dr. Feldman has over fifteen years of experience working with the zebrafish model system, most recently as an Investigator at the National Human Genome Research Institute. His chief research focus has been on the role of TGF beta signaling in early embryonic patterning and morphogenesis, with an emphasis on leveraging genomic and genetic tools towards key questions. He has also engaged deeply in a broad range of collaborations with clinicians seeking human disease insights through the zebrafish model. A list of Dr. Feldman's publications is available here.

Core Support:

The core benefits immensely from its association with the joint NICHD/NHGRI state-of-art Central Aquatics Facility. This facility holds more than 9000 tanks for zebrafish and is operated by a highly capable team of animal care experts, managerial staff and veterinarians.

Oversight to the core is provided by a User Committee composed of following NICHD PIs with expertise in zebrafish-based research.

Dr. Harold Burgess
Dr. Ajay Chitnis
Dr. Igor Dawid
Dr. Thomas Sargent
Dr. Brant Weinstein

This committee will meet quarterly to address all core-related issues. In addition, the committee will play an arbitration role should any conflict arise.
