Biosketch

Francine Mahase, M.B.A., B.Pharm., is a grants program analyst with OPPTB. Her areas of interest include pharmaceuticals-focused marketing, proper prescribing practices, dispensing-error prevention, pharmacy compliance and ethics, and patient counseling. She helps to manage branch analyses of its portfolio and budget and leads the pediatric therapies prioritization arm of the Best Pharmaceuticals for Children Act (BPCA) program. Previously, she was a special research volunteer for BPCA.

Ms. Mahase is a foreign-registered pharmacist and served as a business manager, medical representative, and chief pharmacist for Pfizer as well as for Janssen-Cilag and Astra Zeneca in the Caribbean. She also worked many years in the retail pharmacy field.

Ms. Mahase earned her undergraduate degree in healthcare administration with a concentration in long-term care and her master’s degree in business administration from the University of Maryland University College (now the University of Maryland Global Campus).
