Aggeliki Dimopoulos, MD, joined the DIPHR Epidemiology Branch as a postdoctoral fellow in 2014, under the mentorship of Dr. James Mills. She received her MD from the Medical School of University of Athens, Greece and completed her training in Epidemiology and Statistical Reasoning at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Dr. Dimopoulos joined the NICHD in 2013 as a research volunteer in the Section on Endocrinology and Genetics, within the Division of Intramural Research, participating in the detection of mutations in genes associated with acromegaly and gigantism.
Dr. Dimopoulos’s current research focuses on genetic epidemiology and more particularly on the role of genetic variations in rare congenital malformations. Her research also includes the investigation of adverse pregnancy outcomes and neonatal endocrine disorders consequent to maternal micronutrient deficiency.
