Katie Rush is a public health analyst in NICHD's communications office, where she helps share scientific findings with the public. She also coordinates Media-Smart Youth (http://www.nichd.nih.gov/msy), an after-school program that equips young people with skills in media analysis and production to help them better understand the complex media world around them and how it can influence their health.
Katie joined NIH in 2008 as a Presidential Management Fellow designated to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. She received her master’s degree in communication from the University of Georgia and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin in English and Plan II Honors, an interdisciplinary liberal arts program. Katie is a past president of Young Government Leaders-Bethesda and, currently, a central point of contact for interns and fellows interested in rotational opportunities at NICHD.
