Tonse N. K. Raju, M.D., D.C.H., a board-certified neonatologist, joined PPB in June 2002. Before this, was professor of pediatrics and associate director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at University of Illinois, Chicago. His research interests include: neonatal intensive care topics; pulmonary surfactant; neonatal resuscitation; neonatal bilirubin emcephalopathy; non-invasive monitoring during intensive care; neonatal and pediatric pain; intracranial hemorrhage and periventricular leukomalacia; neonatal encephalopathy and treatment including hypothermia and other neuroprotoective mearues; systematic reviews; breastfeeding human milk, and human lactation research; neonatal hypoglycemia; patient safety during neonatal care; and topics related to preterm birth. A fellow of the AAP, Dr. Raju holds membership in the American Pediatric Society, the Society for Pediatric Research, and the American Osler Society. He is an Associate Editor for Obstetrics & Gynecology International.
