Mentoring is a shared responsibility in the Prevention Research Branch. We are fortunate to have post-doctoral fellows, pre-doctoral fellows, post-baccalaureate fellows, and summer interns. In a few cases post-docs and in all cases pre-docs work on only one project and there for with the investigators on that project. Post-bacs and interns are available to work on all projects and therefore work with many investigators, who serve as their mentors on that project.
I currently supervise 3 postdoctoral fellows and since 2000 I have supervised 10 postdoctoral fellows; 2 pre-doctoral fellows, and numerous post-baccalaureate fellows and interns. I also served as a member of the Mentor Committee for a tenure track investigator (Dr. Laura Koehly) in the Behavioral and Social Sciences Research Branch of the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI).
