Natcher Conference Center (Building 45), NIH Campus, Bethesda, Maryland
The NICHD encourages academic institutions to diversify their student and faculty populations and increase the participation of individuals currently underrepresented in the biomedical, clinical, behavioral, and social sciences. Through the Research Supplements to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research mechanism, NICHD-funded investigators can provide training for high school students, pre- and postdoctoral fellows, and investigator level candidates from the following groups:
This 2-day retreat will enhance trainees’ knowledge of research design and sharpen their skills at creating research grant applications to better equip them for submitting their own research applications. The trainees will also learn about the NIH peer-review process and opportunities for research funding and will explore the NICHD’s scientific challenges and career development opportunities in maternal and child health research. The scholars will also participate in a poster session to share their current research projects.
