Purpose
This biennial conference is for basic and clinical scientists and clinicians with specific interests in the adrenal cortex. During the two-day meeting, authorities in the field presented current findings on a broad group of topics related to the adrenal cortex, while participants took advantage of the forum for active discussions and projections of future research and drug therapy approaches. The meeting focused specifically on genetic and regulatory events related to adrenocortical tumorigenesis, and on rare genetic disorders that affect steroidogenesis and/or other endocrine processes. Discussions during and findings presented at the conference provide a framework for further understanding of the function of the adrenal gland and its contributions to health and disease.
